Chesil Beach Angling Tours

"One of the most enjoyable days of our holiday in Weymouth. I had never been fishing before and Pete took us to Chesil Beach. Very nowledgeable and patient, Pete helped us catch our first fish (actually the first four fish of our lives!). Highly recommended as a great day out".

Angling Trips on the famous Chesil Beach or the rock marks of Portland under the expert guidance of local angler, Pete Hegg, the current British Record Holder for the Ballan Wrasse.

Pete's vast knowledge of when and where to be, instantly allows you to have 35 years of experience of the local area and the best chance of catching the fish of a lifetime.

No matter what type of fishing you require, whether it is a particular species, specimen-hunting or general angling, from either rock of beach, Pete will tailor the trip to suit. Pete knows how to get the best from an area that has justifiably become one of the UK mainland's most popular venues: 2004 saw both the World and European Shore Angling Championships held on Chesil and other local beaches.

The Tours

This is not a "9 to 5" service - Pete knows the importance of matching tide, venue and species together, so some trips will involve fishing into darkness to achieve the best results and times may change daily.

For those anglers staying in the local area, trips can start with a free collection service from their hotel or guesthouse (Weymouth and Portland area only) , a vist to one of the local tackle shops to collect the day's bait and then on to the chosen venue - usually a location on Chesil Beach or Portland (or perhaps Poole Harbour in the Winter for a specimen flounder).

You can be assured of a freindly, personal service from Pete, who will show you how to tackle up, present the bait in the best way and cast. When the time comes, Pete will be on hand to help you land that prize fish.On completion of the tour you will be returned to the pick-up point.

For those anglers who require it, there is a range of tackle available for use during the trip at no extra charge. All the tackle is top-of-the-range and is only what Pete himself would be happy to use. For less experienced anglers, Pete is always happy to give tuition in the use of tackle.
